YΛN is a Norwegian-Hong Kongese artist, performer and an internationally award-winning guitarist whose artistry transcends traditional boundaries. Her performances, known for their captivating storytelling and nuanced expression, have taken her to renowned stages across the world.
At the age of seven, Yan’s journey led her through prestigious institutions such as Barratt Due, the Norwegian Academy of Music, Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf and the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Köln. Her dedication to the craft has earned her over ten major awards in international competitions, including 1st prizes at the Hong Kong International Guitar Competition, Uppsala International Young Talents Competition, Twents Guitar Competition, and Villa-Lobos Competition.
Beyond interpretation, YΛN is an artist who creates. Her passion extends beyond classical performance into writing original pieces, arrangements, and collaborating with artists across genres. Her work explores the interplay between tradition and innovation, bridging classical music with contemporary influences, soundscapes, and storytelling.
Her music has resonated at festivals such as Festspillene i Bergen, Ultima Contemporary Festival, Viva la Guitarra, Uppsala International Guitar Festival and Polarjazz, and she has been featured in live performances on Sweden’s Radio P1. As an artist, she believes in the power of collaboration, working with musicians and creatives to push the boundaries of the classical music repertoire while embracing songwriting as an integral part of her artistic evolution.
